This is a superb manga/anime adaptation of the Japanese manga series "Gunnm" by Yukito Kishiro. It's got just the perfect mix of mushy love as Alita falls in love with her new friend Hugo who has got dark secrets but a good heart and extraordinary action combat that would leave you breathless and absolutely blown away as Alita unravels her true nature as a 300 year old soldier and lethal killing machine. I felt like I had died and gone to cinematic heaven as I watched this movie.
Set several centuries in the future, the abandoned Alita is found in the scrapyard of Iron City by Ido, a compassionate cyber-doctor who takes the unconscious cyborg Alita to his clinic. When Alita awakens, she has no memory of who she is, nor does she have any recognition of the world she finds herself in.
