I always enjoy Michael Caine. He’s had a long and interesting career, a lot of bad movies and a lot of really good ones as well. Sometimes it is a challenge to sit through the film but he is always interesting to watch.

Odeya Rush is a teenage girl, Tatiana, in Dear Dictator who writes a British-Caribbean Dictator, General Anton Vincent, played by Michael Caine. When Vincent is overthrown, he comes to Tatiana’s house to hide out. While there, he teaches her to be a revolutionary in her high school, to overthrow the mean girls in her school.

The Good...

Odeya Rush and Michael Caine are strong together and their repartee is entertaining and fun.

The story is interesting in its tackling of some common teen tropes.

It moves quickly and isn’t too long.

The Not So Good...

I found costars Kate Holmes and Seth Green annoying. Granted, a lot of their story is necessary but they are annoying nonetheless.

Enjoyable.
