Euphemism-free analysis of the ethical and psychological aspects of Hollywood films.

V For Vendetta

Dystopian Political Thriller

Starring

Hugo Weaving as “V”

Natalie Portman as “Evey”

Quick Synopsis:  The film is set in the UK in the near future, where a totalitarian government rules with an iron fist.  The main character of the film, a masked character called V, sets out to topple the government.  He meets and eventually enlists the help of a lady named Evey in order to achieve this objective.

This will not be like other reviews I’ve done, in which I followed the storyline sequentially and with more detail.  My main purpose here is to point out the pros and cons of the film from a true liberty perspective.

Pros

The film does depict elements of truth, such as….

Shows crisis creation by people working within the cult with fancy titles called “government” to grab more power through fear.

(They used a biological attack on their own people to come to power.)

Shows profiteering from biowarfare via vaccines and pharmaceuticals.

(Individuals that staged the biological attack from within the mafia called government also profited from selling the antidote.)

Shows criminal behavior of the violent rights-violating cult called police.

(Order-followers do late-night raids, kidnapping, beating, and sometimes murdering their victims.)

Shows corporate “media” and government gang collusion in spreading disinformation for the purpose of social control.

(There are multiple times throughout the film where extremely blatant lies are spewed by controlled corporate media minions in order to bolster the “official narrative” of the government criminals.)

Shows priest’s sexual abuse of children.

Shows totalitarian surveillance by the criminal gang of government.

So, as I've just pointed out, there are many positive aspects to the film that could help someone "wake up" to certain facets of the fear-based society we live in.

But the film doesn't go deep enough......

Cons

V for Vendetta also puts out controlled opposition lies.  It gives false solutions to the problem posed by external government (problem being, external government is slavery).  The film never questions the concept of external government itself.  It never shows that external human authority is an illusion.  (I’ve never seen a Hollywood film that does).

Another epic lie the film puts forward is that it obfuscates the true meaning of the word “anarchy” through violent imagery.

The word anarchy actually means “without rulers”.

Its roots come from the Greek words, “An” meaning “without” and “Archon” meaning “ruler”.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/archon?ref=etymonline_crossreference

Logically, if there are no rulers, then there can be no people ruled over.  If nobody is ruled over, then liberty is the result.

Anarchy, then, does NOT mean violence, or chaos, or without rules, or any other thing.  It literally means “without rulers”.

The imagery in V for Vendetta, then, plants a false idea of what anarchy is, in the mind of the passive viewer.

This is the imagery I'm referring to.  The violent idiot in a mask is robbing a convenience store.

This is NOT true anarchy!

Why is this not true anarchy?

Because the criminal in the mask is using violence to rule over another individual, even if just for a brief moment.

Since true anarchy means "without rulers", the above image is a false depiction of anarchy.  It is disinformation.

It is a method of mind control called obfuscation.

The film also ignores the true path to freedom, which is the thoughts, emotions, and actions of the majority of individuals coming into alignment with Natural Law principles.

Natural Law, or Moral Law, meaning, in the simplest summation I can give:

Don't harm others.

The so-called “freedom fighting hero”, V, lies and commits acts of violence (violates Natural Law) in order to achieve his objectives.  This is “ends justify the means” pragmatism, which is contrary to principles.

For example, V murders multiple members of the upper echelons of the government gang.  He also blows up two buildings as part of the “revolution”.  Someone watching the film, who just might be discontented with the reality of the everyday world they live in, might see this as a legitimate path to liberty, which it most certainly is NOT.  In short, the film presents a false way to gain liberty.

And what is the end result of V's so-called "revolution"? The film doesn't show it, but it would be just like any other "revolution" based in ignorance and violence in the real world.

A new group of violent authoritarians would take over the fancy titles of the government cult.  Everyone outside the cult, due to their belief in illusory external human authority, would get the same result.  Slavery.

Thanks for your time and attention!

Just say "NO" to slavery!
