Movies are becoming like Tv and Tv is becoming like Movies.

Every day I hear about, how series are getting better and some people even say there are better than movies now…

I happen to not agree, for sure series are much better, I’ve been preaching the golden days of Tv way before it was common to do so…

But here is a fun aspect of this:

Series are becoming more like movies and movies are becoming more like series. Interesting hien?…

Here is what I mean… before the X-files series would happen inside an episode. Meaning, in each episode a small story would start and it would end with that episode. Next week a all new set of issues would arrive. All episodes were independent to one anohter.

Then the X-files started making some mythology episodes, those were episodes that would create an arc thought out the series.

Then the Sopranos came along and all of it’s episodes would create an arc… each episode was like a movie (even using cinematic techniques) and each season was like a big movie.

Now that’s the norm… most famous tv shows out there are small movies divided by seasons. Some mini series are rising (I hope we start to see more of that) and we’ve had series like “Bloodline” a extend story that took place over 3 seasons…

So… every one is on board with this new love of Tv shows… funny thing is…. They are becoming more like movies and that’s when they got much better.

And Movies re becoming morte like tv shows… Think of a recent mainstream American franchise, and you’ll probably notice all the different chapters.
