KING OF BOYS (An Unprofessional Review)

Put Sola Sobowale in any movie and I will come running.. I rarely watch home videos but I always enjoy Sola's movies and King of Boys made me love her more..

When you hear of the underworld of crime, your mind will be quickly drifted to druglords but in King of Boys, a woman rules supreme. Alhaja Eniola Salami (Sola Sobowale) is an ambitiuos woman who rules the underworld of crime, she is the King of the crime bosses and she is also an aid to politicians giving room to her political ambitions, but her stained past seems to hinder her from securing a position. But she is King! And the crown just got hot as one of her under boss, Makanaki (Reminisce) indicated interested in her crown and will stop at nothing to pull down the King, plus she was beginning to lose her political allies as well. But Kings don't bow and a King like Alhaja Eniola is undefeatable..

Let's discuss the elements of the movie shall we? Why is it the most talked about?
First the plot is brilliant, it exposes the polical situations in the country, as well as the criminal world. The story is brilliantly told and the plot twists was thrilling, i love the way the Director unfolded the story of both the past and the present in each scene..

Second, the Timing.. I never knew that I spent almost 3 hrs watching this movie until it ended and I checked my time. the movie got the audience engaged for 2hrs 49mins and there was no boring moment. In Nigeria, only comedy movies could really make us happy and we don't have patience to watch a nigerian movie for that long without grumbling but with King of Boys, it never occured to me to check my time till I finished the movie.

We all know that an all star cast ruins a movie most times but that is not the case in King of Boys. It was an all star cast that wowed us with their performances.

We are familiar with her performance but yet she didn't captured our hearts a new with her stellar performance. King suits her so perfectly, it was like she was born to do this.

I was just seeing her for the first time and she left enough effect on me that I had to google her. The little screen time given to her didn't limit her talents, she's definitely an act to look out for.

Reminisce and Illbliss

Reminisce just proved that he could be a Nollywood bad boy. Reminisce just brought back the memories of the days of Hanks Anuku. Both rappers brought both style to the movie.

She is talented and her performance was top notch..

The director Kemi Adetiba is no doubt a talented woman. She succeeded in making Nollywood proud this year. She was also the director of the Wedding Party, which was the most talked about movie in it's time and now King of Boys is even better...
