Purushottam Lakshman Deshpande was popularly known in Maharashtra by his initials Pu. La. Deshpande he was called 'Bhai' by his near ones. He was one of the greatest Marathi writers he was not only a writer but he was also a lyricist, musician, singer, director, actor, an all-rounder personality. Producer and director Mahesh Manjrekar has announced a movie on the life of Pu. La. Deshpande which will be released under his new company banner 'Phalke's Factory' on 8th November this year which is also the birthday of Pu. La. Deshpande.
