In 1998 India conducted the nuclear tests in Pokhran, the movie 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran' is based on this historical event. The tests were conducted on 11th and 13th May so the trailer of this movie is released on this day this year. After the war with China in 1962, India decided to strengthen its military powers so the first test was conducted in 1974 and second in 1998. The tests in 1998 were addressed as 'Operation Shakti'.

The nuclear tests were conducted very secretly and only top 5 people knew complete details about it. Ex-President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the chief of this operation. The world came to know about the tests when the explosions were successfully conducted. Even the US secret agencies and satellites were unable to get information about India's plan. 'Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran' shows the thrilling events in this secret mission the main actors in this movie are John Abraham, Diana Penty, Boman Irani. The movie is scheduled to release on 25th of this month actually the movie was planned to be released last year but due to some controversies, the release date was postponed.
