Legendary Ready to Present Live-Action Movie 'Gundam'

Known as a franchise that continues to exist to this day, the legendary popular anime Gundam finally got the turn to be made a live-action movie by Hollywood . Coming from Legendary , the live-action film project Gundam announced the studio through the Anime Expo 2018 event taking place in Los Angeles.



First aired in 1979, the Gundam anime sets in the Universal Century era, where humans migrate into space to build colonies, following the explosion of Earth's population. But the existence of this space colony actually gave birth to a larger problem. Not wanting to be restrained by the strict rules prevailing in the colony, humans finally rebelled and started a war against humans from Earth to restore the right of freedom. This fierce battle is increasingly destructive as the presence of sophisticated and deadly mecha nicknamed Mobile Suits.



Throughout its work in the entertainment world, the Gundam franchise has spawned numerous anime, animated movies, action figures and books. Because of its popularity, filmmaker Steven Spielberg was up to display the robot Gundam as a cameo in the movie besutannya, Ready Player One . Gundam is also considered to inspire the concept of Pacific Rim , Legendary production film which also presents a giant robot action piloted to fight.



As reported by THR , Legendary will not be alone in producing live-action film Gundam . The reason, they also involve Sunrise is known as the studio behind the anime series Gundam . For now there is no scriptwriter or director who menggawangi live-action film Gundam , which has not been confirmed the date of the game. Legendary seems to be in no hurry to develop the Gundam , as they are currently focusing on working on the Pokemon live action adaptation movie Detective Pikachu , to be released May 10, 2019.
