Post 'Dragon Tattoo 2', Fede Alvarez Asked to Work 'Evil Dead 2'
Prior to working on The Girl in the Spider's Web which is the sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , Fede Alvarez proved his ability as a cold-handed horror / thriller director via the remake of Evil Dead (2013) and Do not Breathe (2016). Now that Spider's Web has entered the post-production period, Alvarez has begun poised to find a movie project that he will handle next. Given the current remake of Evil Dead and Do not Breathe have a sequel under development, Alvarez finally slid into Twitter to conduct a poll to find out which of the two sequels he needed to make his new project.
It did not take long, the result of this poll finally led to a clear conclusion. Apparently Evil Dead 2 became the most desirable movie with 70% vote acquisition, far beat Do not Breathe 2 which only earns 20% vote. As for 10% of netizens who chose the option to stop Alvarez from filming, which certainly does not need to be taken seriously. Now that the question, will this survey result really set the Evil Dead 2 as the next film Alvarez ditukangi? Or maybe this survey only made Alvarez for a mere whim?
Whatever it is, obviously if Alvarez was intent on working on one of these sequels, chances are he was back holding Jane Levy , considering he is the main character in both Evil Dead and Do not Breathe . Outside the two sequels that entered the survey, Alverez actually also have another project, the latest film Labyrinth . Like Evil Dead 2 and Do not Breathe 2 , Labyrinth also has not got a production schedule.
Interestingly, this survey was held Alvarez after recently Starz announced it would not continue the Ash series vs. Evil Dead after the third season ends. As a result, if fans are still thirsty for the spectacle of Evil Dead , they may be filled with sequels from the Evil Dead remake. Film horror slasher released 2013 itself is not only a success in terms of critical, but also financially. Thus, the results of this survey seems to be a consideration for Alvarez and Sony Pictures in speeding up the development of the project Evil Dead 2 .
Meanwhile, The Girl in the Spider's Web will be released on November 9, 2018.
