The Alternative Lifestyle Show v My Life in 8 Songs - should I swap the days?
I currently host two radio shows on MSP Waves.
On Thursdays for 3 hours (8pm - 11pm UTC) I host My Life in 8 Songs.
On Fridays for 2 hours (10pm - midnight UTC) I host The Alternative Lifestyle Show.
My Life In 8 Songs is a music and interview show with 3 guests each having a one hour slot to tell their life story and play their 8 special songs.
The Alternative Lifestyle Show usually has 5 or 6 guests each talking on a variety of alternative topics for 15 - 20 minutes.
Finding the three guests for My Life In 8 Songs can some weeks be quite difficult.
Finding the guests for The Alternative Lifestyle Show is usually not so difficult - particularly now that I am interlinking it with the Minnow Support Project Sustainability Curation role I have recently taken on.
We have had some really interesting interviews and engrossing discussions on The Alternative Lifestyle Show. So much so that we are often very squeezed for time at the end and could easily have gone on longer.
Swapping the Slots ?
This has given me the idea of whether I should swap the two shows round and move The Alternative Lifestyle Show to the 3 hour slot on Thursdays, and have My Life In 8 Songs with just two guests in the 2 hour slot on Fridays.
The only downside I see to this would be that the Thursday show is 2 hours earlier and so might be less convenient for guests and listeners in the Americas as it would move into mid-afternoon.
It would also mostly remove the opportunity for early morning guests from Australia way who can just pick up the last hour of the show at 7am or so.
I would be very interested to hear people's views on this - both from a guest and a listener perspective.
Should I keep the shows as they are?
Or should I move The Alternative Lifestyle Show to the longer Thursday slot?

What about swapping slots and only having one guest per show on 8 Songs?
I hadn't considered that possibility.
It would certainly work with some guests.

8 songs seems to lend itself to being more lengthy and in depth. That's why I only do one on ones on my Tuesday Hangin' with WHO show.
That might be a good tactic.
Many of your guests come from outside steem don't they?
On Hangin' with WHO, yes. Mondays I decided to stick more with Steemians.
