Ulyanovsk Museum of Civil Aviation

in #museum5 years ago

The Ulyanovsk Civil Aviation Museum is one of the main attractions of Ulyanovsk, though not as widely known as Lenin sites. Here, under the open sky, unique exhibits are collected - models of airplanes and helicopters that are part of the history of Russian aviation.

The museum is located next to the city airfield. In total, there are about 30 exhibits of aircraft that have already exhausted their resources. Some were in a very sad state, but students of relevant universities and enthusiasts for searching for groups restored them, giving them a decent appearance. Some aircraft were transferred to the museum from other cities and even countries. There are models that are considered monuments of science and technology: some are preserved in a single copy.

Models of equipment are different: they differ in size, year of manufacture, duration and features of operation. Each aircraft or helicopter has its own story. Each machine has an information board, you can inspect them yourself, but a guided tour will be much more interesting. For the opportunity to visit the museum - thanks to the group - Ульянкины прогулки

Haha you didn't say where the Ulyanovsk is tho :D Ukraine? or Russia? Anyway, my favorite has to be L-29 "Dolphin" as it was produced in Czechoslovakia, my homeland :D And btw I love the sky on the pictures probably evenmore that those planes :D

Yes, I forgot to specify the country. ( Ulyanovsk is in Russia.
Indeed, lucky with the sky that day. But the planes also perfectly complement the cloud picture.))

Thanks you.)

Maybe it sounds a little exaggerated, but I think this is the kind of information that is worth sharing when we meet people overwhelmed by the tragedies of today's world. I mean, sometimes it's exasperating to hear / read so many misanthrope comments, blaming us for everything that happens or will happen. Well, it's also necessary to say that we humans are really incredible! Seriously, and what better proof of that, than physical evidence on how we conquered the sky with technology created by ourselves in only a century!

Beautiful photographs

People can be proud of themselves.) Thanks for the feedback and rating.)

It's so cool to see how far we've come in terms of aviation. Planes always intrigued me. I know how they remain in the air but any time I see one flying it's always interesting to think how they don't just fall out of the sky.

My friend has been studying in an aviation institute for five years. Graduated with good grades. But he still cannot understand how airplanes fly, but they do not flap their wings.)))

Some of my cousins are quite related to aviation in my country, and seeing these pictures brought back many memories of them, some years ago they took me to see a military aircraft museum and it was amazing to see how great they can be, your photographs are super beautiful, with an impressive quality .. sincerely I have loved this post, a big hug from Venezuela @chanych85

Thanks for the feedback @naideth and big hugs from Russia.)
Airplanes, this is a small miracle.) When they fly high in the sky, do not even think about how they can be beautiful.)

That museum sure does tell a lot of stories. I love how all of them look unique, all with incredible stories to tell. Going on this tour with a guide will be the b3st way to experience it, that way, you won't only enjoy the beautiful view of those planes but also get to share in their story and well, how they ended up there.

When it comes to looks Tu - 116 and 114C are my favorite and oh, the Ant-4 too. The designer did a great job, I will say. All of them did great jobs before ending up in the museum and that sure is amazing.

In 1973, this board took part in the shooting of E. Ryazanov's comedy - “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia”.

I haven't watched that but I believe its one hell of a funny comedy, isn't it?

Are you Russian?

Yes I am from Russia.)
You can watch the comedy about the adventures of Italians in Russia, although there are some moments that will be difficult for the people of other countries to understand. Such a local humor.) But perhaps I am mistaken.)

I like the Tu-144 and the Mi-6 helicopter most of all.)

Being from there gives you a better insight into some of these things, I believe. Glad to see you explore your country and share your findings with us. That place is a gem!

Well, I will love to watch it, humor is humor afterall, I probably will get their meanings, somehow. it is translated in English, right?

Nice picks you have there. What makes them your favorite though?

I think that there is a vatiant in English. Similarly, there is in Italian, but I think there is in English.)
The Tu-144 is like a rocket, nothing superfluous, only speed and power.)
Mi-6 - a huge, powerful, but at the same time simple form.)

I will go look up the English version, then!

Hahah!well, i was all for the looks...😀

Interesting history. Your photos are very good. Even the clouds cooperated to make the photos even better. :)

Thanks for the feedback.)
I was lucky with the clouds that day - they diversified the pictures well.)

If I would ever take my husband to this museum, they would have to drag him out when they would like to close it for the day :D It's amazing! Such a wide display of planes and helicopters. My favorite would be the oldest one that made it through the ocean from Moscow to New York. I can't imagine how comfortable it was during this flight though :D I also like the MiG-25P. Its shape is fascinating.

Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your curie vote! It is an amazing post with beautiful photos.

Thank you for your feedback and rating.)
I myself really did not want to leave it, I wanted to stay there a little longer.)
MiG-25P is beautiful, I like it. But most of all I like the Tu-144 - it is a bit like a rocket.)
Most likely, the pilots during that flight, Moscow - New York, flew in very warm clothes. As for the other conditions of comfort, I can not even imagine.)

Sorry, I have missed your reply..

Hahaha, I'm really surprised they made it. Can you imagine such a long flight above the ocean in such a plane? It would scare the hell out of me :D

:))
I can hardly imagine a flight in such an airplane.)))
