Tim Lambesis Is Back In As I Lay Dying, And Shared A New Song, "My Own Grave"
Well, this is unexpected. As I Lay Dying have officially reunited with frontman Tim Lambesis, announcing their controversial comeback with a new song dubbed 'My Own Grave'.
It is hard to believe that As I Lay Dying has been in limbo since 2013 when Tim Lambesis was arrested on suspicion of hiring a hitman to kill his wife. In 2014 he was sentence to six years for the failed murder plot, before being released on parole in 2016 after serving less than half the sentence.
Rumours of Tim continuing on with the AILD name have been swelling since he was released on parole in 2016. The early rumours were the band was going to feature an entirely new lineup after his ex-band mates distanced themselves from Lambesis, some even making public comments.
Whatever troubles band members had with Tim (including guitarist Nick Hipa) seem to be water under the bridge now because the band has debuted its entire original lineup, Nick, Tim and everyone else.
Regardless of what you think about what Tim was sent to jail for, I think he deserves a second chance from the fans, especially if the band members that he hurt when he was sent to jail and left without paying jobs can do the same.
The new track, "My Own Grave" is the very definition of a comeback, because the song has that trademark AILD sound we have all missed for far too long. It sounds like the band haven't lost the spark, unlike what we heard in the newly released Underoath record.
