Five Star Entertainment Group Presents: Artist Bio @Rest100 - Entertainer, Songwriter and Father

in #music7 years ago

@Rest100 was Born in Staten Island, NY on January 1, 1987. He lived in Brooklyn and was raised in East Long Island.

Currently an artist on the Five Star Entertainment Group record label. Works doing underground cable extraction, runs a business, and a father of 6 children.

Background and Early Life

Rest grew up in multiple foster homes, had a mother that was a drug addict, and a father that was never in the picture. He never lived anywhere for more than a year and a half until he got into his high school years. The communities he lived in were mainly poverty-stricken. Where he spent most of his high school years being surrounded in a neighborhood of registered sex offenders, crack, heroin, and gun violence. He would walk and ride bikes everywhere but found that there was nothing really there for him or anyone. He felt like there was no way out unless you uprooted yourself and move away.

He was forced to drop out of high school in his senior year when the social security checks were no longer coming in for his legal guardian so he was forced to go to job core where he obtained his G.E.D. and earned a trade in the I.T. field.

He had done some work with @jonny-clearwater with video game voice-overs and some hip-hop tracks. He owns his own entertainment company in the U.S. called Bik Squad Entertainment LLC. where his company is currently an investor in a horror film that is filming in Portland that stars Kane Hodder, who is best known from for portrayal of Jason Voorhies in 4 of the Friday the 13th films series: Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, Jason X.

Work Ethic

How Rest feels about work ethic is that it tends to speak volumes. Whenever he's motivated or driven enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel, he feels like a freight train. Even now, he's working six days a week to ensure that I can invest not only in himself as far as in crypto currency. But also to ensure a satisfactory lifestyle. He feels that "the scale of life always will tip in favor of what you are driven by. You either sacrifice time or make no sacrifice at all in order to see success."

What Separates Him From Others?

Rest understands when you reach a level of fame, there's more to it in life to just entertain others. As an individual, we should be leaving a positive impact in the world and inspiring others to accomplish their own legacy.

"I feel like my determination, drive, and consistency mainly is what separates me because you get a lot of people who get a certain level of notorieties so to speak. I mean, I say notoriety because your fame is people the who know you for the moment and notoriety is your legacy of your actions so that's going to live on forever. So a lot of people earn a small bit of notoriety and that will go swelling up to their head, and then they lose the drive."

Mentors/Influences.

Many of us had a mentor or people that had a huge impact in our lives that influences who we become. Rest says his influences are his family.

"Over the years as you get older, you start realizing if you start idolizing people who aren't directly influencing your energy line, you kind of wasting energy so... it's like if I'm helping build my brother and I'm helping build my friends, you know what I'm sayin'? Like, I'm keepin' that energy amongst us and building us up so... A lot of my influences is family, friends and direct associates."

Career/Life Moment

Rest would practice battle rap in the mornings and at lunchtimes. He really didn't get heavy into it until he got back to Brooklyn and got affiliated with Wu-Tang and the Brooklyn zoo.

He had 2 memorable moments in his career. One was where he had earned a proclamation day in his name from the Mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio for doing community service work and a sponsored tour for a children's organization. He donated all the funds raised on the tour and that resulted with the Mayor of Cincinnati presenting him with his own day in that city known as "Rest Day" on November 6.

"So even I'm dead and I'm gone, you know, that paper with that stamp and that signature from the Mayor is proof that for my children that's a legacy they can always be proud of."

The second moment was when he published a book about the first portion of his life and became an author. The book is titled: Product of My Environment and you can find it at TheBookookPatch.com.
These are moments he felt that separated him from being just a music artist to a full-fledged entertainer.

He noticed he was good at what he does when he was in high school and had crowds of people surrounding him and was just waiting and anticipating the next verse or the next joke he was going to say. He realized he was a "beacon" for attention.

"I meant the closest I could describe it and this was way before it even came out in theaters was when Eminem was rapping against the dude on stage and like, you feel that adrenaline and it's not even like you gettin' paid or anything it's just that you know that many eyes are directly focused on you and it's like, either you gonna bitch out, or you gonna show them what you got."

Lessons and Goals

One of the most valuable lessons Rest has learned deals with trust.

"You can't trust everybody who claims they have good intentions for you. Especially when you have already understood and noticed that you have value in your talent."

As for his goals, short-term, Rest wants to own his own home and have a nice area for his kids to play safely. Long-term he wants to be more embedded on the Steem blockchain and a lot more invested in crypto-currency. He sees that the benefactors far exceed the initial investment as far as a long-term investment plan.

Inspiration, Passion

Rest's inspiration is the understanding of financial freedom. He understood a long time ago from the struggle that he had to go through that the only way he was actually going to live comfortably is to gain financial freedom. To be able to take care of his family and never giving up on his passion of being an entertainer.
