Mosley Bar - Strange Place

in #music5 years ago (edited)

March 11th, UK outfit, Mosley Bar released single, Strange Place and upon first listens, it’s worthy of your bandwidth. The new single, full of caffeine and almost anxious in nature is what you would expect from the quartet - sonically, probably their best release to date.

I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing this band a couple of years ago and they never disappoint. Strange Place goes right to work on your senses with flooded guitar chords and slugger-fest drums. I love the guitar tone in this track, it’s vintage but au currant, crusty and bratty tonally-speaking and even infuses some classic tremolo sounds near the end of the single. Bass guitar tone is present and baked-to-perfection, it really helps move the single through its at-capacity verses; a complete arbiter between guitars and drums.

Mosley Bar

I love tipping the hat to great bass tones, never enough mentions. Notably, the drum track is aggressive and successfully ahead of the beat giving Strange Place it’s hurried, unbridled feeling. Mosley Bar creates choruses that are almost anthem-like on this one and they’re sticking around long after the track comes to its close. Lead vocal is earnest, a bit gritty and pushy in nature; never disappointing, on any Mosley Bar track for that matter.

It’s the perfect cap for a perfect upcoming release. For fans of great rock n’ roll, and for that we thank you.
