Project Milkbox Songs Of Hope Playlist Suggestions

in #music6 years ago (edited)

Project Milkbox is running a contest where you can help them create a playlist with songs of hope. We gladly take this opportunity to suggest a couple of songs of hope. This was a really fun exercise thinking of songs that are about hope. It's very rewarding listening to these songs and one post is not enough to gather them all of course. But hey, we'll try! Hope you enjoy @milkbox.info :-)

A platform to search, find and resque missing people and pets all around the world! Assisting in the intensive and complete search of missing people and pets through the blockchain technology.
Remember that personal tastes differ and you have to be in the mood for these tracks. I, for instance, wouldn't play these tracks at any time of day but I'm certainly looking forward to listening to the entire list when it's finished.

Suggestion 1

Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water

Personal tastes differ of course, but this track is a must-listen if you've never heard it before. It's the ultimate track about hope. Take a look at this fourth verse:

Sail on silver girl Sail on by Your time has come to shine All your dreams are on their way See how they shine Oh, if you need a friend I'm sailing right behind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind

Suggestion 2

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Somewhere Over The Rainbow

This is probably a track everyone knows or has heard in one version or the other. The ukelele in this version is very calming and relaxing and gives an instant boost of hope. I hadn't listened to this one in a while but came to mind and I instantly found myself humming along :-) The lyrics can be interpreted in a positive or negative way, but I'd like to view it positively. In my opinion, it's a song about hope for a better future.

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high And the dreams that you dream of once in a lullaby Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly And the dreams that you dream of, dreams really do come true Someday I'll wish upon a star, wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where trouble melts like lemon drops High above the chimney tops is where you'll find me Somewhere over the rainbow blue birds fly And the dreams that you dare to, oh why, oh why can't I?

Suggestion 3

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun

Sometimes all you need is some good old Beatles to feel alright. Or a mother or father to tell you "it's alright". Just listening to the intro is soothing on its own. It might be the most original one, but what works, works ;-)

Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo) Here comes the sun, and I say It's all right

Suggestion 4

My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade

However not a positive track at first glance, it's certainly a track about hope. Think of someone you cared for who died and read the final verse:

Carry on We'll carry on Though your dead and gone believe me Your memory will carry on You'll carry on And though you're broken and defeated You're wiry widow marches on We'll carry on We'll carry on
The difficult time you're in now, won't last forever. There's always hope for a better future.
