Holy Diver - one of my favorite songs

in #music6 years ago

Most fans of hard-n-heavy agree with my opinion that the debut album of Ronald James Padavona in the group Dio turned out to be quite powerful, high-quality and melodic. In fact, the secret here – it seemed like a project Dio international recognition. Ronnie James surrounded himself with the right people, real masters and talents of the rock scene, each of which before the creation of the group had to play in one or even several groups. Experience – more than enough.

Quarreling with members of Black Sabbath in ' 82 dio stepping down as frontman dragged along with him and drummer Vinnie Appice. They go in search of new horizons of creativity and soon find a kindred spirit in the person of former colleagues Padavona team Rainbow bass player Jimmy Bain.

A little later, thanks to Bain to the composition clung Irish guitarist Vivian Campbell, then participating in the budding group Sweet Savage. In this composition and began to gather material for the album "Holy Diver". And something carried me...

The struggle for life, it's infinite, but in search of light you cannot stop, and in the words of Harvey dent: "the dark night before the dawn".

I am impressed by the lyrics of Padavona. In it one can feel aggression, the same struggle and inexhaustible energy. Don't forget about the presentation of the material - Dio it was done with a light hand, and masterful. What else do you need for a real hard rocker?

"Holy Diver" has everything we love about hard rock. This is a masterful work that every self-respecting rocker knows. A mystical mishmash of rebellious spirit, powerful voice of Ronnie James and simple but memorable singing guitar riffs and Campbell's solo. You're like a doll in the wind, giving in to that impulse, and by the second chorus, Holi Diver's already in your head.
Let's listen together:

In 2006, the American band Killswitch Engage gives the world a record "As Daylight Dies", which includes a bonus track cover version of the song "Holy Diver". Replayed the hit roared anew, fleshy, voluminous, steep singing solo and metalgroove inserts.

Howard Jones sang a wonderful party and, despite the fact that to compete with dio no one was going, the youth of that time knew only one Holy Diver – from the metalheads of Killswitch Engage. I will say even more-many young fans of hard rock mistakenly consider "Holy Diver" their song.

It was her at sixteen I first heard, and after that went to get acquainted with the discography of Dio and other projects with the participation of Padavona. I suggest to read the cover version:

If you do not notice some banter in the video or listen to a song without video – you can understand why the version of this team is so popular in the world of rock. Well, I love both and I can listen to them one by one all day.

That's all. Thank you for your attention and good mood!
