Girls at Our Best! - Heaven

Girls at Our Best! was a British

punk/post-punk band, formed in 1979 in Leeds, England. They were originally called The Butterflies, though they eventually named themselves after a line from their song 'Getting Nowhere Fast'. The band had a short life, breaking up in 1982, and having only released one full length album, Pleasure. Despite the short lived nature of the group, they had a number of songs on the UK indie charts.

I first discovered this song,

and subsequently the band, from a skate video from Welcome Skateboards, and was blown away. They have a really interesting sound; clearly, they were influenced by the punk scene happening around them, but they had a bit of a poppier style, and the vocals are obviously less intense and more melodic. I also really like the timbre of the guitars, the tone has a really unique sort of quality, which works great with their whole aesthetic.
