Grapthar's Song of the Day: The Faint 'Chameleon Nights'
The Faint - Chameleon Nights
The Faint are an electronic rock band,
initially formed in 1995 as an indie rock band, though on their 2nd album they began using synths, and by the next release were almost a full electronic group. The band consists of Graham Ulicny, Todd Fink, Dapose and Clark Baechlle, though in the early days, Connor Oberst (Bright Eyes) was in the group. Every album in their discography is awesome, and each has its own sort of sound and style that makes it unique amongst the group.

This song is from their brand new
release, Egowork, which just came out. They seem to have gone a lot more in the electronic/synthy direction here, abandoning the "punky" sort of bass and guitar that appeared on a few of their previous albums. The sounds and instruments used on this album are definitely modern, which is cool; they have released songs/albums with a more retro/80s synth vibe, but here they seem to have taken a lot of ideas from modern dance music, and morphed in their usual Fainty sort of way into solid pop/rock structured songs.
