This is another song centered around

a basic piano part, similar to the last few that I've shared. I've found it a good instrument to use to just sort of map out ideas and progressions, so they don't get lost in weird sounds or crazy effects. Again, I wouldn't consider any of these "finished songs" by any stretch, more just demos to get the general idea across. This one is a bit shorter than the last few, but has 2 piano parts to sort of make up for the lack of 'depth'. Let's get into it.

Listen to Megapiano here.

So Track 1 begins with a 16 bar intro,

which is our "Green" section (8 bars) repeated 2x, then we get into the full progression, which uses the 8 Bar Green section and a 4 Bar Light blue part. This part feels like it's in F#minor basically, although when the chords from the intro are played alone, the first 4 bars feel more like G#, as the note A in the 4th chord feels like a bII. I've attached the 2 Green and 1 Light Blue section as a consolidated part in the screenshot below, so feel free to follow along with that. The Light blue part uses some interesting intervals and adds a really cool dissonance, which almost feels unresolved when we repeat, making for a very mysterious sort of flavor to the progression.

Track 2 is a second piano

which plays the same basic progression as Track, but squished into a single octave, and with an arpeggiator on top. I also adjusted the speed of arpeggiation at few points just for fun and for a bit of variation, but I am not sure if this part would even exist if a song was built on top of Track 1.

Listen to Megapiano here.

Tracks 3 and 4 provide the

percussion instruments, which are various hand drums and Latin percussion instruments. Finally, we have Tracks 5 and 6, which are the bass parts, with 5 using a bass guitar, and 6 a synth bass with a longer sustain, to fill it out a bit more. I have attached a screenshot below of the full bass line over the 12 bar progression of Track 1. The bass isn't color-coded yet in the overview, so apologies about that.

Hope you've found the walkthrough interesting and dig the song idea! If I ever make this into something more, I will be sure to do an update!
