'Multimodulator' - New Original Music/Piano Based Chord Progression Idea! Jazz/Solo-Piano/Instrumental + Walkthrough!
So this isn't a full song
by any stretch of the imagination, rather just an idea for a chord progression/modulation. I wanted every 4 bars to use a different key, so we move back and forth between Aminor and F#minor 2x, then we have F#minor to D#minor 2x, before repeating. I will definitely be taking this idea and trying to build up something else around it, as it has a really beautiful jazzy sort of vibe. Let's go through it!
Listen to Multimodulator here.
We only have one track,
the piano, which begins in Aminor. Every modulation uses a min7 chord, with the minor 7th on top holding out over chord changes below. The left hand part begins on the tonic of each key, then moves through various changes, using both the IV and iv, the v, both the VI and vi, and the Vi chord in various orders. I really dig how this works, despite the constant key changes, it seems to flow reasonably nicely. I think the right could work through the transitions a bit better, but considering this is just a super rough draft, I think it gets the idea across.
Amin to F#min changes.
I know this is a short one, but stay tuned for more (full length, lol) songs soon, been working on some! Thanks for listening!
