'Sonic's Delight' - New Original Music/Experimenting W/ Quartal and Quintal Chords! Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough!
This is a random tune,
started out with me just playing super huge, 8 or 9 note quartal (all 4ths) and quintal (all 5ths) chords. Most of the synth sounds are from Spitfire Audio's LABS VSTs, which all sound pretty sweet. The general progression is definitely strange, especially when paired with the harmonies, but I dig it, it has a weird, really tense sort of vibe, yet still feels sort of dancey? Haha, anyway let's go through it.
Listen to Sonic's Delight here.
Track 1 plays the main chords,
though Track 8 also comes in with the same progression, with a 1/4 triplet rhythm. As I mentioned, it uses quartal and quintal chords, but I compressed the voicings, moving everything down within an octave and a half of the lowest note. Track 2 comes in playing a little harmony line using minor and major 2nds, which definitely adds to the weird vibe. Track 3 comes in with a little 2 note line at the beginning of each measure. Track 4 is the little descending melody line that comes in, which I really love the timbre of. That synth is awesome.
Track 1, described above.

Track4, descending melody line.
Tracks 5 and 6 our the drums,
with 5 playing our kicks and snares, and 6 the hihats. Track 7 is the bass, which sticks to a simple line over each chord, starting on a note, up an octave, then sliding straight down to a staccato thump. Finally we have Track 8, which plays the chords from Track 1, using a dancey/retro synth sort of orchestral hit tone.
I hope you dig today's tune! Thanks for listening!
