'Temporarily Spatial' - New Original Music/Song Idea! Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough!
Here's a little diddy
that came together last night while messing around in Ableton. I wasn't too sure about this initially, but as I layered it, it got weirder and cooler, so definitely a bit of a happy accident. I think this could definitely be split up/used in a fuller song, so I'll make sure to update if I wind up editing this more, but let's go through as it currently is.
Listen to Temporarily Spatial here.
We begin the song
with Tracks 1, 2 and 3 layered on top of each other. Track 1 just repeats 2 notes, back and forth: C and Ab. Track 2 is our bass part, which is pictured below in the first screenshot, and Track 3 adds the steamy/hissy synth sounds that sort of float in and out of the other 2 parts. By themselves, all 3 parts aren't particularly interesting, but together, they made for a really interesting, dissonant section.
Track 2, described above.

Track 6, described below.
Tracks 4 and 5 are
our drum pats, with Track 4 adding the weirder, more effected drums, and Track 5 a more "normal" electric kit, which helped accentuate the kick parts a bit more. Finally, we have Track 6, which is a little lead line, pictured in the screenshot above. I love the sound of this, it uses an F dorian scale, which really worked nicely with the weirdness of the first 3 tracks.
I hope you've enjoyed today's walkthrough and song! Thanks for listening!
