Wednesday House - David August Boiler Room Live Set

in #music5 years ago

Once again another Wednesday is upon us. Going to be a longish day at work and setting the vibes nicely with this live set of pure vibes and class. David August has been a name to watch for a while and this is the live set that put him on the radars of a ton of people. Even in his short career, he's managed to rack up a number of huge tracks that have gotten a large amount of play from me. The disco tinged Instant Harmony and classy melancholy of Epikur come to mind, but despite his dancefloor hits he has made waves for me recently with a series of releases exploring ambient and orchestra work that stand out as some of the best in the genre of late.

In fact if there is one thing that seems to be a defining line across his work, it isn't the genre specific clichés of house and techno, but a sense of cinematic arrangement and beautiful melodies. Often opting for the sound of live strings, the thread that runs across his work is one of deep melancholy and longing. This live set is all of those things. The type of thing you can put on in the background and set your vibe for the day. There is a reason this has amassed over 7 million views. It's beautiful and timeless with enough substance to transcend the club and give the home listener something to dig into. That is the reason over 4 years that I keep coming back to it. I keep finding something new every time I listen to it. Great work.
