Metal Weekend #16 - PLAY IT LOUD and share your metal songs

I am following @detlev ’s initiative and having a #metalweekend. Of course, every day is a heavy metal day but on weekends we have that extra chance to annoy our neighbors. This week I am going to present a fantastic band. It’s not heavy metal, but it is totally awesome.

It’s called The Night Flight Orchestra and they come from Sweden, like many great bands.

They were formed in 2007 by Björn Strid and David Andersson while they were touring in the USA with their band Soilwork, they were later joined by bassist Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars, ex-King Diamond), Richard Larsson (Von Benzo), Jonas Källsbäck (Mean Streak) and, more recently, Sebastian Forslund (Kadwatha).

The members come from extreme metal bands, but their music is far from that. They play 70’s hard rock with funk and disco elements. They are vintage, nostalgic, melodic and funky. And fucking great.

They have released four studio albums.
