Innnersound Music Blog.jpg

I'm always scouring the internet for some decent music, or rather just compiling music i think other people might enjoy.

Music will always be a huge part of my life. I'm a music hermit, i live and die by the waves. I wish i could find the time like i used to to make it, but by gosh is there some good music out there right now, the music is so good it just needs to be pushed and shared.

I hope you like my picks, some brand new stuff and some old gems that you might injoy.

Please support the artists :)

Paul T & Edward Oberon - Sleepwalkers

Heard this jam on Bassdrive radio a couple weeks ago and was instantly taken by the production, the bassline is genius, it rolls and curves relentlessly over that perfect drum line and as we say in the trade, drum and bass is all about rhythm and this tune certainly hits the spot rhythmically. Amazing tune, future classic in my umble pinion.

Bungle - The Source

For nearly 20 years my all time favorite drum & bass track has been John B's Up all night, but recently i may of found a contender to challenge my all time fave. The track is by an artist i have followed for years, but i completely overlooked this older plate. The artist in question is Bungle, an incredibly versatile and prolific drum and bass producer who hails from Sao Paolo, Brazil. Bungle is part of the hugely influential Brazilian camp of drum & bass artists that includes legendary artists such as Dj Marky, Patife, XRS..

This track was made almost 10 years ago i believe, but this is right up there with some of the greatest dnb ever produced, can you hear the source? i can.

Blood Orange - Charcoal Baby

I'll admit i've had this tune on repeat for the last 3 weeks while i go about my day, cannot for the life of me get it out of my head. Quite the hook, the beat, love the vocal,.. just a shit hot piece of music. All i know about the artist is his name is Devonté D J M Hynes and he hails from New York and he knows how to drop a beat. Love this.

dBridge - Nachtlus

Taken from his brand new album "A love i can't explain" the legendary dBridge from Bad company releases his brand new album and boy was i blown away. This album is an absolute masterpiece. You see the reason why bad company were so fckin good was because you had the incredible energy and editing skills of fresh who was all about the rave then you had the introspective, intuitive and studious sounds of dBridge, not forgetting the undisputed dj'ing skills of Maldini. For me, dBridge has just dropped his greatest piece of art, if you go through the whole album you will know what i mean.

Pulp - Babies

Most people from my generation were either into Oasis or Blur, and even though i like both those bands, i was always more into Pulp, lead by Jarvis Cocker. There was Verve too. I always really liked this song by Pulp though. Great band.

Jon The Dentist & Ollie Jay - Imagination (Pierce Rooney Remix)

The original of this by the g.o.a.t. Jon The Dentist inspired me a lot when i was 16, 17. Pierce Rooney really did this song justice with the remix, perfect remix. Always loved a bit of hard house, uniquely british and always the the other warehouse/room at dnb raves. Shout out to the true hard house heads, if anyone knows how to party, they do.

JX - There's Nothing I Won't Do

Classic old skool house from 1996, somewhat mainstream at the time, but it was a time when music seeped positivity, innocence, expression in it's fullest and possibility. Great music, the riffs alone will be carved into eternity. I know i danced to this as a kid enough times.

iiola - Don't Shut Me Up

Discovered this a few days ago, instantly smitten with the song, great vocals and production. iiola aka Shannon Saunders is a very talented singer, i remember hearing her cover of Frank Ocean's swim good a few months ago and she absolutely nailed it. Unique voice.

Lily Allen - Trigger Bang (feat. Giggs)

Can't help myself, i love a bit of Lily Allen. I've always fancied her too.

The Tennors - Ride Yu Donkey

No music post would be complete without a little reggae. One of the classics complete with white noise.

"The only tune that i could play, was.. ride yu donkey!"

Goodnight!

Love,
Jon x
