Las gaitas nacen en el Zulia, donde se escuchan todo el año en cada rincón del Saladillo y en cada esquina de Santa Lucía, cada sitio de la región zuliana. Es humildad, es parranda y alegría. Sus letras, llenas de clamor y devoción por La Chinita, emocionan hasta al más ateo y algunos temas, centrados en las injusticias o las bondades de las tierras zulianas.
En Maracaibo, en la Costa Oriental del Lago, en cualquier ciudad de Venezuela o al cruzar la frontera tricolor, es imposible que a un zuliano no se le hinche el pecho de orgullo al escuchar un furro, un cuatro, una charrasca y una tambora (jajaja lo digo porque conozco unos cuantos y de verdad así son 😂).
Pero también para el resto de los venezolanos las gaitas es Navidad. Es reencuentro con la familia y con las tradiciones. Ninguna gaitas se parece a la otra y por eso es imposible escuchar solo una.
Mi Ranchito, compuesta por Ricardo Portillo e interpretada por Ricardo Cepeda y los Cardenales del Éxito, fue nombrada Gaita del año en 1993 y todavía hoy, al escucharla, nos hace mirar atrás y no debemos olvidar nunca de dónde venimos y sobre todo que la humildad siempre debe acompañarnos en cada paso que demos.
Sin duda alguna Mi Ranchito es una las gaitas emblemáticas del folclor zuliano, este tema es una pieza fundamental de la gaita zuliana, y desde su promoción, llegó para quedarse en lo más hondo del sentir de nuestro pueblo, por su contenido, si se pudiese decir hasta anecdótico.
Si crees que tienes el corazón de piedra, al recordar la letra de esta hermosa gaita seguro te da por llamar a toda la familia y hasta a la vecina que hace años que no ves 🤣

Mi Ranchito, composed by Ricardo Portillo and played by Ricardo Cepeda and the Success Cardinals, was named Bagpipe of the year in 1993 and still today, when listening to it, it makes us look back and we must never forget where we came from and about everything that humility should always accompany us in every step we take.
Undoubtedly Mi Ranchito is one of the emblematic bagpipes of Zulian folklore, this theme is a fundamental piece of bagpipe from Zulia, and since its promotion, it has come to stay in the deepest sense of our people, for its content , if it could be said until anecdotal.
