I hope some day you'll join us - John Lennon

I'll tell you the history of music and how John Lennon became ambassador of Musicoin.

Before

It was 2018 and an unknown number of people had launched into the world of cryptocurrencies hoping to earn a little bit. And in fact for almost 10 years the cryptocourrencies had allowed huge gains to a small number of people. We were still in the era of proof of work and still the whales-piranhas, so they were called in the jargon, had not yet become so powerful. They had already started their pump and dump job. Their function was to feed on panic. Their game was to create panic and to swallow it. They chose a specific date in the future and decided to sell a huge amount of cryptocurrency at the same time, buying dollars.

At that precise moment, an unknown number of people seeing cryptocurrencies fall and in the grip of the classic cryptocurrency panic sold by increasing the fall of cryptocourrencies. FUD hunting. Once the devalued cryptocourrencies, whales again bought huge amounts of cryptocurrency and the price went up again. They called it the dance of whales that takes away the fear. Because after all that was their mission, to remove the fear. The whales did not even need to enter the ocean of the blockchain, they only operated through pseudo exchanges like eToro without actually entering the blockchain.

Direction

I can assure you that this period was very useful because it served to understand what would be the direction of the cryptoworld. Many were scrambling to follow these whales in their frenetic ascents and descents into the abyss, hoping to receive some advantage, while in another part of the ocean, in a small inland sea, a small community of musicians had reversed the vision of things. For them it was not about maximizing their earnings in dollars in the shortest possible time, but rather maximizing their profit in Musicoin in the long term and at the same time always in the long run to increase the value of the Musicon slowly and inexorably.

As musicians they used to earn almost nothing. Moving from almost nothing to something was a huge step forward for them. They had a long-term vision and even if the value of the Musicoin continued to fall, both against the dollar and against Bitcoin, the vision was clear: allowing musicians to be autonomous and independent. In a more exact word, to be decentralized. Decentralized and united in their goal to put music at the center, to put humanity at the center of the blockchain. It was an open challenge, a struggle without a quarter, an act of faith in music. A bloody daily work made of music, information technology and communication. A courageous need for music to exist in an autonomous and decentralized way.

Now in 2020

Today it seems a normal thing, an evidence that the blockchain is at the service of humanity. Today it seems normal that a boy can decide to become a songwriter and choose this profession like a cook, a waiter or a gardener. And in fact today about 2 million songwriters around the world work hard to bring music around, in their cities, in their neighborhoods and can live on their music. Today it seems normal to attend free concerts, listen to local and quality music in a widespread way, everywhere. Meeting musicians has become normal, it is a trendy trade. Today it is normal to see a songwriter working 5-6 hours a day to develop music, improve his art, quality, his texts, his collaborations and then offer all this to society.

Imagine a world

Imagine a world where music is no longer just the property of three labels and three streaming platforms, but instead is fairly distributed in society, through smartcontract. Imagine a world where it is automatic to share copyright or commons creatives. Imagine a world in which it is possible to live with music, without necessarily being famous. Imagine a world where musicians encourage each other in the most difficult psychological moments. Imagine a world in which music can serve to collect micro-funds for works of solidarity in a more widespread and decentralized way. Imagine a world where you will no longer be forced to be a pirate to listen to music. Imagine a world where the money you spend on music goes first of all to musicians and not just some musicians, a few musicians. Imagine a world in which if your daughter tells you she wants to become a singer you can proudly say: "Yes, love, good choice is a promising profession". Imagine John Lennon, Musicoin's ambassador.
