Iman & Amani – “Wain Tany Wain”

Wain Tany Wain(2010)

(Since this is an Arabic song, I was unable to find any information about it in English.  In fact, I’m not even sure if the title of the song is correct. If anyone knows anything about this song, or can correct any errors I may have made in this post, please leave a comment below.)

Iman & Amani

The singing duo comprising the talented Sudanese twins Iman and Amani became a bit of an internet sensation around 2006.

Over the course of 3–4 years, they (or their friends) uploaded a handful of videos in which the twins displayed their lilting vocals and glorious harmonies. They were usually accompanied by a single instrument, either a keyboard or an oud  (a lute-like instrument).   (Image source) (Several years ago, I had read a bit of information about these twins. However, when researching this post, I was unable to find any information or news about them. The latest YouTube video of them was uploaded in 2010. If anyone can provide any information about either this song or the twins, please do so in the “Comments” section. Thanks.)

Hmmm, I've published "more than 950" posts. In fact, I've published over 10,000! Anyway, thanks for the recognition.

Even though this song is in Arabic, as you stated, and the English translation could not be found, it was a great pleasure listening to it. It coloured my evening. Indeed, music, good music, is a universal language. Thanks for another brilliant edition.

Yes, it's amazing how the singing makes this tune so supremely listenable. These twins have a few other vids on YouTube, and each one of them is simply wonderful.

(I'm looking forward to some "purple-lined " music. :-)

There's no doubt about the quality of these superb twins. I hope you will share more of their songs or something close. As for the purple series, everything is underway but I am not sure of doing something as great as yours. Once again, thanks for the template.

obscure but classic.., they are all-star musicians.

“they absolutely nailed it,” a rich vocal tradition. great post.

Thanks. Glad you liked it.
