ROCK CALENDAR: January 9, 1955-rosemary Clooney took 1st place in the UK chart with the song " Mambo Italiano»
This song made a rustle! Like Italian – it sounds quintessentially American Song, which he performed for over 55 years.
Bob Meryl wrote it back in 1954, based on an Italian folk song by an unknown author. The first record of the song, made by rosemary Clooney, in the same year hit the American chart, and in early 1955 – in the British chart. The author of the words to this day remained unknown, and this explains the difference in the lyrics songs various artists – from minor to substantial (up to the addition of a verse).
Rosemary's was the best hit, the song became an international hit – pop-jazz, I would say. Rosemary is the aunt of actor George Clooney, by the way.
But I'm naughty in the extreme, full use of their right of choice and I opted for playing the classic version rosemary Clooney, and more driving performance of Brigitte Bardot (at least it says so, I don't know Bordeaux as a singer).
