ROCK CALENDAR: on August 11, 1969, the Beatles finished recording the song "Oh! Darling»
"The Beatles" started the main recording on April 20 on Abby road, making 26 takes of the rhythm track. McCartney played bass and sang, Lennon played piano, Starr played drums, and Harrison played guitar. A batch of Hammond's organ was also added, which was then erased. The final version was recorded on July 23. August 11 imposed back-vocal harmonies, and " Oh! Darling " was ready.
Alan Parsons: "Paul came to the Studio for a few days and worked on the vocals for' Oh! Darling." He came, sang and said: "No, not that. I'll try again tomorrow." He only took it once a day. I think Paul was trying to capture a certain rawness that could only be achieved until the voice changed. I remember him saying, " Five years ago I could have done it right away."
John Lennon: "Oh! Darling " is one of Paul's great songs, which He didn't sing in the best way. I always thought I'd sing much better – she's more my style than his. But he wrote it, so he had to sing it himself."
