A picture from a session in another one of the many projects I seem to get involved in! This was quite an interesting and short-lived project that combined two of the musical styles I enjoy the most : Latin American Folklore (that includes many styles) and Jazz.
The JJ refers to the legendary Ecuadorian singer Julio Jaramillo who was arguably the biggest figure in our popular music history. The project consisted of reinterpretations of songs that were made famous by him. His repertoire included Ecuadorian pasillos, Peruvian Valses and boleros to name a few. Quite a challenging thing to play while combining it with some jazz improvisational elements but fun indeed!
On the far right is Raul Rueda, bassist for this project and also songwriter whose first album I later produced, I've shared some of his music around here ;) .
