Just a bit of music I like ^_^

in #music5 years ago

When I work on a new painting in our lab, I love to listen music. I use my earphones because I like to listen high-volume music and using them I can pump up the volume. Sometimes I think it's funny to watch me when I'm painting, because I use to move my body when I love the music I'm listening ad sometimes I sing too ^_^

Doesn't matter, the creative process is something you can feel inside of yourself and you're trying to put it out of you, so if you looks like a little crazy doing something new it's just because you're a very creative people, right? ^_^

So, today  I decided to share with you some pieces of music I love to listen during the creative process. It's not a "list", but just some random pieces I like .

Premise: I was born in the 1971 and when I was a teenager I spent a lot of time listening music, especially English and Americans songs. Just to know, at that time (and someone also now) my favorites were David Bowie, the Eurythmics, the Toto, Cindy Lauper, Depeche Mode, etc. When I became an adult I "added" a lot of different music to my play list and so I use to listen from pop to rock, from the opera by Puccini to the metal too. It depends by the moment and by what I need to feel thanks the music.

Now, 3 pieces that give me energy when I'm painting:

The first time I heard about the Radiohead was 10 years ago from one of my collegues. He was younger than me and a good guitar player, so he liked to talk about his favorite music bands while we had to work on something boring like to clean the archive. He told me about the Radiohead and gave me a copy of some of their songs, so I started to appreciate this band.

Karma Police by Radiohead

Here in Italy, during the '90s, at the radio we started to listen the songs of the Nirvana and the Pearl Jam. At that time I just started to be a mom (a very young mom) and so, during those years, I couldn't  listen so much music  but a lot of lullabies. I started to know better the songs of those music bands just after. I love so much the voice of Eddie Vedder of the Pearl Jam, but I admit Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana give me always a lot of energy when I'm painting.

The next is a piece pretty new (about one year) that I really love! I love the sounds, the words and his voice and I like to listen it and to sing it like a sort of mantra ^_^

I hope you'll enjoy them!

See ya later
