Steemit Groovy Tuesday #5 - C7 vamp !
Hello dear people of Steemit ! In this video i was practising some jazz lines over a C7 vamp . My teacher sent me a whole bunch of lines starting from each of the notes in mixolydian scale , so it was a bit challenging connecting them and making sense out of that random set of notes . I often like to practice that in a funk setting , i guess it's a bit more exciting that way , jazz backing tracks are tbh a bit dull as you do not have the interaction with the rhythm section . Jazz is really ''alive'' genre and backing tracks just don't do justice to it . Of course this holds true for all other genres , as the interaction lifts the performance to a whole new level , but i guess it is essential in a jazz context . what is that filter/octave effect you are using here? quite interesting and the tracking seems quite fast :) . we seem to use the same backings to practice hahahah... i gave this one a go too but with another approach , liked the jazzy lines , those passing tones give it quite a cool color , and great use of space ! digged it ;)

Hahaha, i've noticed that we have a lot of similarities in our playing and taste :D In Amplitube i used the Brittish Blue Tube 30 , or smth like that , and the pedal chain was : Diode overdrive , octaver and a wah set somewhere in the middle . It reminds me of the dirty , distorted hammond organ , that's why i dig that sound so much :D
