BLUES FESTIVAL 2018
This year's Chenango Blues Festival was one of the best yet. We have been attending them for the last 22 years. Last year was their 25 Anniversary. This year's performers included Samantha Fish, Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio, A J Ghent, Cash Box Kings, Hubby Jenkins and the Prestage Brothers to name a few.
The music was great as was the audience. Attendance this year had to be close to 5 or 6 thousand. With that many people and some substantial drinking and smokeing taking place, the mood of the crowd was mellow with a bit of redneck dancing and shouting. The instrument you see in this photo was played by one of the Prestage brothers. The music that came out of this homemade guitar was unreal. After his performance I asked him if I could see the guitar. It was made from a cigar box a piece of an old chair.

As you can see from this photo, my best friend Pete and me got all dressed up for the occasion.

In all the 22 years we have attended we have only gone solo once, and it was not this year. Family and friends all enjoyed the day of great music, fine food and a little shopping. Have to get a little Blues Fest attire every year.

Wow! Thanks a million. I love doing posts just to track a small part of my life on the farm. Retired teacher of the handicapped for the last 1.5 years. One day down the road my blood will be able to look back and better understand who I was to a small degree. In addition to the joy this brings me, to be recognized for content that I think is pretty cool adds another dimension to posting. Thanks again @thebigsweed
