The musician analyzed the current scene and how the scenario has changed over time

The American musician Lenny Kravitz said that "rock is not dying" and that in music everything is a matter of "cycles", so he predicted that in a few years this genre will come back strongly.

At a press conference held in Mexico City, where his "Raise Vibration World Tour" will start next Friday, the singer said that rock is not being promoted so much at the moment nor "it sounds on the radio as before".

However, he added, there are "repeating cycles" in the industry, whether it's with pop, hip-hop or any other musical style.

For that reason, "in the coming years (rock) will once again be a dominant force in music, I am sure," said the artist, who mentioned that today young bands are appearing to fan the genre.

The interpreter spoke briefly about the composition process of the songs that will appear on "Raise Vibration", his next studio album, which will go on sale in the fall.

He acknowledged that he does not sit down to write with a fixed schedule, but waits until he "hears something" inside him.

"(For this new production) I usually woke up between three and five in the morning with those songs in my head," he said, adding that some of them came "almost complete" and with others he was merely a "frame of reference". work "I had to fill.rock

"I like to wait until I get something, I think it's the purest way to work," he said.

When asked his opinion about the future of music, Kravitz replied that it is something difficult to know because it is constantly changing, although he ventured that the trend will

continue that "the artist can contact the public directly."

"Many of the artists or stars that are famous today are for the online world, and I think it will continue in that direction," added the singer, who considers that this is "completely different" from what he found when he broke into the industry 30 years ago.

Regarding his influences, he mentioned those artists who have been key to him as James Brown and Marvin Gaye, and pointed out that he is still learning and that he intends to do it until his "last breath".

"The best music education I received was listening to records" and later "going to concerts," he said.
