7-Day Wayback Music Challenge: Day 5 - Saturday Night

in #musicwaybackchallenge6 years ago (edited)

Worldfamous in The Netherlands and Belgium.
If there exists some kind of Top 10 of 'Artists who don't give a Shit', this man definitely should be either in it or be nominated.
Saw him live in my hometown in a (way too) small hall, just after this song was brought out. The song was a big hit, (his first real one) so it's useless to tell that there were too many people in there. Better said: there were even more people outside than inside.

Herman Brood, Aka: Rock'n Roll Junkie, R.I.P.
But even 17 years after his death,

still in the minds of a lot of fans.

The Rules of this challenge ...

  • Choose one song from your high-school/college years.
  • Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated.
  • Write a few words about who made you listen to this song for the first time, what this song means to you (was it a breakup song? you blasted it at 100% on your audio system when you were partying with your friends?) whatever you want.
  • Write your text while listening to the song. As soon as the song ends, wrap up what you where writing and submit it.
  • Nominate another Steemer to do the same on each day.
  • Tag it with #musicwaybackchallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
  • Follow @greek-trail for great content made by our fellow Greek Steemers!

I would like to nominate @kiwiscanfly

Indeed zero fucks is what he gave..

Already passed away for 17 years. time flies. I still remember I saw him on television shooting out of a train.. Very interesting dude. Too bad he jumped of a building.

Some 20 years ago being asked in an interview what he tought about the Tour de France cyclers using doping he answered: 'Highly interesting'.
Admired his many talents and his being himself always.

haha they dont make em like that no more..

One of a kind.
Did you notice (at 1.22) that anti-theft button on the back of his jacket. He only bought his jackets if they left that button on, hahaha.

I didn't but really hilarious and original :D

By the way. I also saw him make paintings on t.v. Probably high as F... he just simply threw some paint on a canvas. And bam ready for sale. Like a boss

I spotted that! I hadn't heard of him, being from a different part of the world, but I liked it.

Thanks. Good eye for detail you have. I understand that you hadn't heard of him; like I wrote ... worldfamous in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Was also known as the "cuddle-junk".
Despite the fact he was far from being a model citizen (not to mention the ideal son-in-law), you couldn't just get angry with him.

i think we like the same music
this exceptional good

Looks indeed like we have that in common. Still I wonder what your contribution to this challenge of tomorrow will be.

Just goes to show us how it doesn't matter what material you have around you but what are you made of inside.

Exactly. This man doesn't give a shit what people think of him or what he does.

That's the right approach definitely!! :)

Definitely one that should be in the list, classic. Longer ago than I thought though...

Yep. Wanted to put at least one dutch contribution in this challenge. And I know Golden Earring is far more known over the world.
But with the challenge rule "college years', and in mind Herman Brood's 'Don't give a Shit-attitude', I had no other option than to choose for him.

I was having a blunt when I was watching the video andI figured out why many people were outside than in . I concluded a blunt was needed afterall. It’s really a music from way back.

I don't know if you understood it right.
There were more people outside than inside because there was not enough room for more people in the hall. The people outside still stayed, to at least hear the music.

Oh my bad , I miss read the line . Thanks for clarification

If there exist some kind of Top 10 of 'Artists who don't give a Shit',

lol after watching the video i can say that is very true, maybe top 5 lol,

great guy...rip to him

This song was played every Saturday night on SPLASH FM about the time for the night shit program. I never missed that program. It got so familiar I started humming it all around. I really didn’t know much about it at that time.

I didn't even know the song was that popular.

Not basically popular. I guess it was just the song for the ‘moment’.
The moment as per while the show lasted. So they played it with some couple other weird ones just before the commencement and at the close of the show.

That was tremendous video I've heard now @smasssh. Grand visualization there. Just excellent selection.

The old song but their lyrics is still a live until now
