The moment you think of veering into something different is the moment the clock starts ticking for you and even if you remain in your former place, you are on the clock because you thought about it. Too many people fail not because they are lazy, weak, poor or small, but because they missed the time to take that leap.
I like the words, "Leap of Faith" but there is nothing spectacular about it if you just leaped and forgot to hold on to the faith.

Every time we are alive is a gift that we should take seriously and every time we recognize our strengths, we buy into the gift. Failure to recognize your gifts pushes forward a fail that spans decades and turns into what we have always feared to be... our worst selves.
Leap when there is a prompt to, do not wonder what may be, wonder what may not be if you fail to take that leap at the first prompt. There is so much to live for if we know how to use our "leap of faith."

I had to re-read this post in other to get the deep message it is passing across. Obviously if we remove faith from the equation of our lives we might not have much to hold unto. And yes there is more to life than siting and contemplating if we should take a step or not... In other words take a risk and enjoy life.

Leaping and forgetting to hold the Faith is very risky. Though i think the faith is the motivator of the leap because if the person didn't believe in the idea, he/she wouldn't have taken the leap. Also, it's good to take a leap the moment the prompt comes if the prompt is from God, other than that, serious consideration should be given to the area one is going to land before taking the leap. Just my thought. Your words are very motivating and inspiring.
It is called a leap of Faith because, you make a move that may seem senseless and unplanned for. No one can say for sure if they are doing the right or wrong things before they start, they just get to see how it goes as they go.
The minute you take a break to evaluate your stance to know if you will fall into a pit or not,
or to wait to hear if it's a prompt from God, it becomes a leap.... And anyone can leap.
Faith is the substance of things "hoped" for and an evidence of things "not seen."

But sir, i don't think faith blinds us to the reality around us. Faith only makes us trust God in the midst of the reality. A leap stirred by faith and a prompt from God will surely have a good landing. But in a situation where the leap was as a result of your own faith in yourself or the awesomeness of the idea, the person need to have a good evaluation of the idea so that he/she doesn't leap and land on a spot filled with thorns. Just my thought!
That is where the problem lies, we are overly religious and we tend to forget we do not need a special time to hear or commune with the Almighty, He is the omnipotent and can speak to us whenever. Faith doesn't blind us to the reality around us, but it blinds us to the fear that is the "supposed reality" we are used to. Whenever we are careful, we allow fear set in because, then we are careful to notice and give it (fear) some undue attention.
By the way, there is no promise of a thorn-free landing, but there is a promise to see us through it all no matter how hard it may appear to be.
