Magistrate's court

After the ascent to the old town, we see this picture.

Nach der Auffahrt in die Altstadt bietet sich dieses Bild.

On the right is the imposing building of the present Magistrate's Court. Built from 1720-1730 as electoral government building with rich baroque façade design. Expansion in the same style around 1907 in a three-storey hipped roof construction.

Rechts ist das imposante Gebäude des jetzigen Amtsgerichtes. Erbaut von 1720-1730 als kurfürstliches Regierungsgebäude mit reicher barocker Fassadengestaltung. Erweiterung im gleichen Stil um 1907 in dreigeschossiger Walmdachbauweise.

In the background part of the castle can be seen.

Im Hintergrund ist ein Teil des Schlosses zu sehen.

On the left side we see a stately saddle roof construction with stepped gable, segmental arched windows and former three driveways, as the building was built as a fire brigade house around 1870. Today it is developed on the ground floor as tourist information, in the upper floors are the practice rooms of the city brass band. At the age of 17, I was a member of this band and helped to rebuild the house for a few hours.

Auf der linken Seite sehen wir einen stattlichen Satteldachbau mit Treppengiebel, Segmentbogenfenstern und ehemaligen drei Einfahrten, da das Gebäude als Feuerwehrgerätehaus um 1870 erbaut wurde. Heute ist es im Erdgeschoß als Tourist-Information ausgebaut, in den oberen Stockwerken befinden sich die Übungsräume der Stadtkapelle. Mit 17 Jahren war ich Mitglied dieser Kapelle und habe beim Umbau des Hauses einige Stunden mitgeholfen.
