Introduction

Nakamoto’s Den is a blockchain conference with a lot of teams presenting their projects to the investors that will attend, and experts in the field giving valuable talks about several topics.

In the last article I wrote about this event, I started to explore the topics that are going to be discussed on next Tuesday, February 19, which is when Nakamoto’s Den officially opens its doors.

However, since the number of topics that are going to be covered is quite high, there are still more talks that should be properly examined.

Conference topics

The last topic I mentioned in part one was the following:

The next 45 minutes are going to be spent with some experts of the field like Alex Geralis and Theodore Krintas, where they are going to explain some of the most important principles to successfully invest in digital assets, especially those that are based on blockchain technology. Source

Once that talk is finished, the next person holding the microphone will be Antonis Polemitis, who is the CEO of the University of Nicosia. This university is well known in the blockchain scene, even considered as a global leader when it comes to cryptocurrency and blockchain implementations & top-notch education. They have agreements with some of the biggest cryptocurrency projects such as Ripple, and this institution was also recognized for being the first one in publishing its student’s diplomas on the blockchain.

Antonis Polemitis has been working on the university since 2011, and has been the CEO since 2016, so it is fair to say that it is under his leadership that this university has embraced blockchain technology in a lot of areas, up to the point of becoming a global leader in the sector, I would bet there are other universities trying to mimic what the University of Nicosia has achieved so far, and by giving this talk, Polemitis will cast some light into the next step they are going to take in order to continue expanding the adoption of blockchain technology.

The following talk will be given by Peter Lazou and the topic will be about the financial inclusion that can be achieved by the proper application of blockchain based platforms, banking the unbanked has been one of the most important goals of this technological revolution even from the creation of Bitcoin itself, according to some estimates there are 1.7 billion people around the world that are unbanked, and under the proper circumstances, blockchain platforms could make it possible for those people to start having virtual accounts to handle their digital assets and easily transfer them through a global network.

The final task of the day will be given by Alexis Nicolaou, Viktoria Saltez, Xenia Neophytou, and Georgina Kyriakoudes. The topic will consist in auditing digital assets, which is something that thanks to the transparent nature of blockchain platforms, can be easily done by people with the technical skills necessary to properly handle the data from the blockchain.

Given the importance of this particular talk, and the fact there will be 4 people on the stage, it should last around 40 minutes, which should be enough to provide the attendants with relevant information in regards to the audition of digital assets, a topic that will certainly increase in importance in the coming years as cryptocurrencies become more used.

In the coming article, we are going to explore the topics that are going to be discussed in the second day of the conference.
