Bitgrail CEO must repay 170 million

in #nano5 years ago

In February 2018, the Bitgrail cryptocurrency exchange reported 187 million dollars worth NANO tokens were missing. Bitgrail CEO Francesco Firano claimed that the funds were stolen by hackers. But who hacked the funds was never revealed.

Now, the courts have ruled that Firano must pay 170 million to investors because he was solely responsible for the hack. This guy was a total idiot. He kept all the funds in a hot wallet which obviously made hacks easier.

He then tried to blame the NANO development team for the hack. But from the looks of it, it is quite clear that the hack happened due to bugs in the wallet software of Bitgrail not NANO network.
