Old School Tea Time

in #naturalmedicine5 years ago

Life is a constant rush, nowadays we don't have time for anything and this is why we are buying everything from supermarkets, shops or ordering online. However, this wasn't always the case, there were times when people were doing almost everything manually themselves.

If it comes to tea, I'm sure most of us buy our tea, except for those who go foraging and collect herbs for themselves, but these people are in minority compared to the others. Somehow it's understandable because city life makes it impossible to forage herbs, you need to go way outside the city to find unpolluted plants and we don't have time or energy for that. It's easier to buy them from the supermarket.

Today I want to show you a more than two decade old tea recipe written by a teacher (let's call him John), who was a nature lover and an "expert" in tea mixes. I had the pleasure to know him and to taste his exceptional tea mix. The tea recipe you see below was written by John (in Hungarian) more than 25 years ago and contains 21 ingredients.

Here's the English translation for you.

Ingredients:

Here are some recommendations in case you want to try it out:

  • it's all right if you don't have all the ingredients,
  • you can use the mix with 3 - 5 ingredients,
  • dry the herbs in a shady place, don't expose them to the sun,
  • this is not for treatment, as the quantities are too small for that but it's perfect for keeping you healthy,
  • you can add lemon.

Although I have a huge collection of tea, I'm planning to try it out one day.

Many thanks!

21 összetevő, az azért nem kevés egyetlen bögrébe :) Bár csupa jó dolog van benne, szóval ártani nem árthat, ha az ember okosan issza :)

This is an amazing recipe. The tea, despite the low quantities of each herb, is definitely an alternative cure for kidneys diseases, weight problems and it surely lowers high body temperatures associated with the flu.
I will definitely try it. I'm just waiting for the Spring and Summer to collect these herbs.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. 🙂

You're welcome Roxy. I think I'm going to buy some of the ingredients, just have to reduce my tea collection because I have too much already 😁 I still remember the taste of it and it was great.

Many thanks for your help.

I love fresh herbal teas, especially in the spring time! This is a great list!

Thank you Melinda, I'm going to post about it if I'll have the ingredients.

That will be a good post, especially with photos of all the fresh herbs that you find!

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm going to buy these. There's no clean place where I can pick these.
