It turns out that it's worth it. And not just try it once, but use it regularly. After all, the beneficial properties of yam have a positive effect on almost every organ and system in the body. Here it looks, that the sweet potato is useful for the human health.

Potato yam is a rich source of carbohydrates, easily absorbed and valuable energy. The benefits of sweet potatoes are that their carbohydrates are much easier to digest for the body than potato starch, and they also have a very low glycemic index. That is, for diabetics, sweet potato with its useful properties is registered by its very nature.

In addition, sweet potatoes, like any other vegetable - a lot of fiber. This is what causes the intestines and stomach to move, improving peristalsis, digestion and absorption of food. So the beneficial substances in the use of the yams are absorbed more, and the digestive tract is massaged and trained very intensely.

And the combination of B vitamins with ascorbic acid and many minerals gives the sweet potato many healing properties. And it allows it to have a mild sedative effect on the intestines, preventing the development of ulcers and various disorders.

The same fiber that makes the muscles and intestinal epithelium work prevents the absorption of large amounts of cholesterol and their ancestors in the blood. As a result, potato sweet potatoes are also useful because when they are consumed, the level of cholesterol and lipoproteins of different density in the blood decreases, and then the walls of the arteries are cleaned and their light increases. Therefore, an important property of the root - the prevention of heart disease: atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease and various vascular diseases.

In addition, vitamin C and some metals included in the chemical composition of sweet potatoes (calcium, for example, and magnesium) help maintain the elasticity of the arteries, while maintaining the body's ability to maintain normal blood flow. But the properties of magnesium and iron, which in the vegetable contain a lot, are necessary for the production of a large number of blood cells that help with anemia.

At this point, the benefits of sweet potatoes for the human body are not equal to themselves. One hundred grams of sweet potatoes contain four daily doses of beta-carotene, which are necessary for an adult to fight the process of free radicals and cancer cells. That is, a portion of yams per day is enough to protect yourself sufficiently from the risk of developing cancer.

The same beta carotene along with vitamin C stimulates the cells, the components of the immune system, several T helper cells, phages and lymphocytes. These cells protect the body reliably against viruses and germs.

Numerous studies have confirmed that the use of yams affects the state of the human nervous system in a very positive way. Then, the main useful component of a sweet vegetable, which affects the state of the nervous system, is potassium. Not only is it necessary for the normal course of all processes in the nerve fibers, but it also supports the normal activity of the brain and muscle fibers.

In particular, it is the lack of potassium which leads to frequent seizures or nervous tremors. 100 grams of sweet potatoes contain 337 mg of potassium, more than most vegetables. As a result, eating vegetables is useful for various nervous disorders and simply to improve mood and activate the brain. To establish the mood, the sweet potato is also good because it is very sweet. After all, we all know that sweetness is a direct path to pleasure and joy.

And the folic acid, whose composition of the sweet potato is very rich, a vitamin necessary for the normal activity of the brain. Their wealth in the diet provides a normal level of mental activity and the possibility of a long concentration of attention.

Many vegetables can boast an effective effect on the respiratory system. The sweet yam with its special healing properties is one of those unique items. In fact, it is the yam that doctors recommend using instead of potatoes for those suffering from asthma and bronchitis. Too rich in sweet potatoes with B vitamins and ascorbic acid.
