Right now, it's our community token that we're using to reward relevant content. We're working together on developing more usecase than just the mindless hey look at us we got a token that a lot of folks are displaying.
@riverflows, @metametheus, @alchemage, y'all wanna chime in too? We're generating some community interest :)

Well, does staking LOTUS coin generate something, or that a token thing that generates things and coins are just exchanged?
At this present moment, staking gives your vote increase value.
And yes if you like, you could simply exchange it for other tokens or STEEM.
There are visions and plans in place for them to be used for various things... all NM-related. Everything step-by-step... there are things that need to be put in place and completed first. Everything in nature takes its time.
My question was an invitation for you to also consider what you’d like to be able to use your token for and start bringing that into the community conversation.
Think of LOTUS as the soil... what do you want to grow with that soil...?

Oh, cool. Having a coin that increases voting power sounds awesome.
Well, MAP has an interesting system where staked tokens allow stakeholders to gain extra upvotes from time to time. It also allows for delegators to receive tokens each week and hold it in order to increase its value. So if LOTUS increases voting power when staked, delegators could receive some percentage of LOTUS, where we stake it and it increases, the more we have staked, the more we receive, the more our vp increases at the same time. Something to that effect could be interesting. Not sure how feasible that is, but it's an idea.
