Local restaurant with a really cool farm out the back
Animals Noses
So, my wife loves animals noses... Especially cows and donkeys noses... So this picture was especially for her! Yep, quite the oddity :o)
This is one of the donkeys, and one of the many animals at New Barn Farm or The Donkeyshed as it is also known. It is 5 minutes from our house and is a firm favorite with the kids. They are basically a working farm, but they also have a really nice restuarant, where almost all of the ingredients are sourced on the farm.
A lovely menu
Here is a sample of some of the main courses on offer at the moment:
The animals are the main attraction
But the main attraction is the animals, and they all have great little personalities and are very friendly. They have chickens, geese, goats, donkeys, pigs, cows and sheep.
Here are some of them...
They have a little fruit and veg shop as well which sells gorgeous fresh produce, which is all organic and reasonably priced as well. They also, leave out some odd and ends of veg that you can take and feed to the animals in the farm which is a nice touch. They have also created a little walkwalk circle of about 600 metres where you can walk around and admire all the animals.
Feeding time
Just after I took this picture, we fed him some apple, which he loved, my son was holding up bedding straw which of course he just smelled and ignored.
Family Day
It is a really great way to spend an afternoon with the family. It is free, really close to the house and the food is excellent, so it is a winner all round, and a regular haunt for us..
Hopefully you enjoyed that post.
I try to post every day, so feel free to follow me and check out some of my other posts here.

Aww - i love it!! Unfortunately, it's not quite close enough to our suburb in Melbourne. If i'm ever around your way - our family will visit the animals!😄
Ha ha, good on ya @mysecondself01 and if ye do make it over, let me know, and put the kettle on! :o)
We used to love doing things like that when the kids were young!
Good on ye @jayna.. It is very important to do things like this with your kids I think.. Showing them all about nature and spending quality time together.
