A "lawn" of dandelions!

in #nature6 years ago

No matter if your thumb is "green" or "brown", this is one flower that anyone living in the temperate zone can. grow...Taraxacum officinale, the botanical name of the common dandelion. We certainly have no problem growing a lawnful of them!

But no problem, as dandelions provide one of the first meals for the honeybee. The entire plant is edible from the leaves, to the root. The flowers even make a delicious wine!

The familiar sunny yellow flower is as sure a sign of spring as we will ever see!

They're beautiful! If they weren't such a weed, we would plant them everywhere. :-)

Haha, yes, but so lucky...we don't have to plant them! In fact, just try to stop them !

Hello friend @anise how are you ?. These flowers called dandelions are very beautiful and unique, I really love the shape they have and that intense yellow color that makes them look even more unique and original. I have had the opportunity to see in person only these lion teeth and without a doubt the emotion in my eyes was brilliant, since they are very beautiful to the naked eye. The photographs are very beautiful, even in the last two it is as if the dandelion glowed. Thank you for sharing with us these beautiful catches. regards

Hello! Yes they are certainly a bright yellow. I think if they stayed open allnight, they might even glow in the dark 😉

I really love to see dandelions @anise... We've also had a big crop of them and they really brighten up the green lawn. We also just leave them be for the sake of all pollinators and the whole place seems to hum in the mornings :)

Yes, they are beneficial for the pollinators for sure! And it gives us a good reason to keep them in the lawn. 😉

@anise, it doesn't take long before they go like this 😆 :

How do you find yourself a friend? A few days ago I did not see you around here.

That's how beautiful they are, although where I live, I think they do not see each other frequently, but if I've seen them now, I did not know they got good wine from them. Greetings to all at home @anise
