Why is @artonmysleeve up to his knees in a river?
We have travelled to 5 years old birthday party that was held in millhouses park, The last time I went there was last year and I had a line and a hook but this time I was going to spend sometime at the party.
We played cricket which is something I have not played in 15 years plus I was 10 stone lighter then too but I still had a blast.
One of the guys who was there got talking to me, and a roomer had gone around saying that the river had dried up because of the weather.
I went on to tell him that the last time I was here I pulled a 6"crayfish out of the water, He looked shocked and said something along the lines of that there can't be any crayfish in there.
I had to prove a point.
The only problem was I hadn't brought my line and hook, all I had was some bread from an uneaten sandwich and a stick that I had pulled from a nearby tree.
I was messing around in some shallow water and unturned a rock to find 2 baby crayfish under it, they were blue in colour and only an " in size.
The guy who had been talking to me didn't see these little ones but his wife did as she had come to check on her kids who happened to be interested in me jumping from rock to rock.
I sat on the side of the river and I could see a good size crayfish just looking at me so I took the opportunity to jump in the river and go and get it.
Then I caught a bigger one
Before you know it I had pulled 7 large crayfish out of the water, Don't worry I put them all back as I don't want anything to die.
The guy came across and saw the size of these and was shocked, he asked how I had caught them, I said to him, - I see them in the water and put my stick in front of them, when they grab hold I pull them out so I can grab the shell and take them from the water.
His eyes widened, he then said to me, - you would be perfect if the world came to an end as you could feed your self,
I laughed at him and said I love my food buddy as you can tell from my belly so I would be in here if I had to. haha
