An Evening Walk

Yesterday, I took an evening walk with a few friends around one of the many nature preserves in my hometown. The weather was nice, not too hot or muggy, and the bugs were surprisingly at bay given all the rain we’ve had in recent weeks.

The preserve has a mixed feel. There are areas that are open and other areas that are thickly compact with shrubs and various species of plants and trees. The preserve is also home to an array of wildlife since my hometown has been significantly urbanizing the last few years. The preserve acts as a solid habitat where they can live without having to worry about anthropogenic events destroying what they call home.

There are a number of preserves in the area, and I hope to explore and adventure to see what they are all about this summer. I haven’t really explored much in the past, but I feel as though this is part of our duty here on planet Earth — to explore what God and Mother Nature have so gracefully created.
