Icicles and Lichen
Yesterday’s hike took me on a cold walk along the Patapsco River. The rocky cliffs alongside the river were dripping with icicles. The combination of ice on the lichen and moss covered rocks along with the icicles made for what I think is an interesting abstract photo.
I also came along an old bridge over a little creek that drained into the river. The light was a little bright, but the structure caught my eye. It must have been used a hundred years ago when mills dotted the Patapsco River banks, still standing while most other signs of industry are long gone.
The River was pretty clear today and you could see fish swimming around, a nice change from the muddy brown just a few days ago. It was a nice shade of emerald green yesterday.
Happy Hump Day!
