Esta entrega consta de la recolección del fruto, conservación de la semilla para futuras siembras y preparación de un plato usando el fruto que coseche, realmente esto ultimo fue un reto por que no cocino mucho, hehehe, pero sin adelantar mas te invito a seguir viendo mi publicación.

Hello friends of #AgroContest! Now if my paprika growing process ends with this # 4 installment. First of all I take this opportunity to greet the juries and sponsors of this excellent contest, @ critic-on @galberto and @antoniomontilva.

This delivery consists of the harvesting of the fruit, conservation of the seed for future plantings and preparation of a dish using the fruit that it harvests, really this last one was a challenge because I do not cook much, hehehe, but without advancing more I invite you to continue seeing my publication.

Ante todo coseche el fruto de pimentón, al momento de la cosecha el fruto no estaba 100% maduro, este estado se le conoce como pintón, aunque se puede cosechar en este estado, lo ideal seria cuando este completamente maduro para poder obtener sus semillas.

Firstly harvest the fruit of paprika, at the time of harvest the fruit was not 100% mature, this state is known as pintón, although it can be harvested in this state, the ideal would be when it is fully ripe to be able to obtain your seeds.

Proceso de obtención de la semilla / Process of obtaining the seed:

Para obtener las semillas es muy importante tener el fruto completamente maduro, para que las semillas tengan un optimo desarrollo y la futura germinacion tenga un alto porcentaje de semillas en nacimiento.

To obtain the seeds it is very important to have the fruit completely ripe, so that the seeds have an optimal development and the future germination has a high percentage of seeds at birth.

Tomamos el fruto y lo cortamos de manera que se pueda extraer las semillas, luego se deja unos dias en la sombra para que pierda humedad y una vez que se sienta seca la semilla al tacto (claro que la semilla siempre tendra un poco de agua interna disponible para que pueda mantenerse el embrion con vida), se procede a realizar una seleccion, descartando las semillas negras, con pardeamiento y las de tamaño inferior.

We take the fruit and cut it so that the seeds can be extracted, then leave a few days in the shade to lose moisture and once the seed feels dry to the touch (of course the seed will always have a little of internal water available so that the embryo can be kept alive), we proceed to make a selection, discarding the black seeds, with browning and those of smaller size.

Una vez seleccionadas las semillas se procede a almacenarlas, yo utilice un poco de cenizas para empaquetar y conservar las semillas, esta ceniza protegera la semilla de cualquier proliferacion de hongos, mohos y/o bacterias que puedan dañar nuestra preciada semilla. Luego procedi a sellar hermeticamente el paquete

Once selected the seeds are stored, I use a little ash to pack and preserve the seeds, this ash will protect the seed from any proliferation of fungi, molds and / or bacteria that can damage our precious seed. Then he proceeded to hermetically seal the package

Una vez sellada se almacena en un lugar fresco y muy importante es, que no reciba luz solar directa, pues las altas temperaturas y la radiacion uv puede matar el embrion.

Once sealed it is stored in a cool place and it is very important that it does not receive direct sunlight, as high temperatures and uv radiation can kill the embryo.

Preparación de un plato a base de pimentón / Preparation of a dish based on paprika:

Esta es un proceso complejo, pues es poco lo que cocino, es por eso que decidí hacer algo fácil y practico, unos pimentones salteados para degustar con mi plato preferido, mi Arepa Venezolana.

This is a complex process, because there is little I cook, that's why I decided to make something easy and practical, sauteed peppers to taste with my favorite dish, my Arepa Venezolana.

Para hacer estos pimentones salteados use:

1. Pimentones picados.
2. Cebolla Picada.
3. Aceite Vegetal para la sarten.
4. Sal y pimienta al gusto.
5. Curry en polvo.
6. Salsa de Ajo.
7. Salsa inglesa.
8. Vino tinto para cocina.

To make these sauteed peppers use:

  
1. Chopped paprika.
  
2. Chopped Onion.
  
3. Vegetable oil for the pan.
  
4. Salt and pepper to taste.
  
5. Curry powder.
  
6. Garlic sauce.
  
7. English sauce.
  
8. Red wine for cooking.

Una vez terminado mis pimentones salteados, que quedaron pero muy ricos, busque con que acompañarlos. Quería algo mas artesanal como un Casabe (un alimento autóctono y artesanal de mi país), pero la gran Arepa frita Venezolana ganó.

Once I finished my sautéed peppers, which were left but very rich, look for them to accompany them. I wanted something more traditional like a Casabe (an indigenous and artisanal food of my country), but the great Arepa fried Venezuelan won.
