Indonesia has a variety of diverse flora, one of the unique flora is Flower Carrion (Rafflesia Arnoldi). This flower can appear suddenly in different places. Why so? Let's first acquaintance with the carcass Flower.

In 1818, the transfer of power from the Dutch colonization of the Dutch to the British Empire. Governor-General Sir Stamford Raffles who at that time holds the highest authority over Indonesia is studying the biodiversity of the earth by inviting a Biologist named Joseph Arnold to explore an area in Bengkulu.

The smelling flower was named by Arnold, Rafflesia Arnoldi. It was named because of that as a gratitude to
Governor General Sir Stamford Raffles who had financed the expedition. While the people who participated in the group named the flower is carrion flower.

After that, carrion flower is known to foreign countries. The government also set the carrion flower as a protected plant. In 1992, Bangkai flower was moved from Bengkulu to Bogor Botanical Garden.
